You Can Do It
Build a Boat
|
| |
SUPPLIES YOU NEED
* Milk or juice cartons. Make sure they don't leak, or your
boat will sink.
* Thread or string.
* Shoe box or any similar cardboard box.
* Paper towel or toilet paper roll.
* Tape. Packing tape works the best because it has a stronger
glue.
With these supplies and the help of an adult, you can have fun
building the boat below. |

 |
1) Tape
four milk cartons together as shown. Wrap the tape all the way
around them. It is important that the tape goes around more
than once, so when you launch your freighter it won't come apart.
(The Harbor Master really frowns on freighters that come apart
in the water!)
(2) Customize your boat by adding small boxes, tubes, and straws
to the deck. You could even build smaller boats to place on
the deck of your freighter. The sky's the limit. |

I hope you have a lot of fun making and playing with your
new river barge. Try customizing it by adding different things
on the deck. I hope you have a good time with your boat. Please
e-mail the Professor
and let me know how it went.
Your friend,
Professor Alexander
